We both grew up in the same city in Southern California and knew each other’s families, but we “officially” met at a church activity in summer 2010. Nothing came of that first conversation until the following summer. We had a whirlwind courtship, engagement, and wedding all in the second half of 2011–when you know, you know! Over a decade later we still love and cherish every day together.
In 2020 we were blessed to be connected with an expectant mother and father, and when their baby boy came they entrusted him to us. Emmett is the light of our lives and makes every single day better. We’re so grateful for him and for our continued relationship with his birth family.
Becky
- A jack of all trades, master of none: always trying out new hobbies, interests, & skills
- Recent endeavors include gardening, quilting, and trying to spend as much time outside as possible
- Gets to be a stay at home mom–a lifelong dream come true
- Earned a bachelors degree in Secondary Math Education & taught high school math for 7 years
Tom
- A fiercely loyal and humble friend who is always looking to serve
- BYU athletics enthusiast (especially football!), but can talk college or professional sports as well as anyone
- Has a serious sweet tooth, especially for fruity candy
- Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology, works in leadership development for a healthcare company
Emmett
- Loves singing, humming, dancing, and drumming
- Has a new favorite movie every month or two (which mom and dad appreciate)
- Favorite food is pasta–he’ll keep asking for more until you cut him off!
- The sweetest little boy there ever was
Our most favorite of all is spending time together. Whether we’re doing a project on Saturday morning, cuddling up for a movie after dinner, or out for a walk to the nearest park, all that matters is that somehow in this crazy world we all managed to find each other.
